Volkswagen Taigun

The Taigun is Volkswagen's five-seat SUV, in the updated form Volkswagen unveiled in April 2026 as the new Taigun: 4,221 mm long on a 2,651 mm wheelbase, with a 385-litre boot that expands to 1,405 litres. It has two turbocharged petrol engines: a 1.0 TSI (115 PS, 178 Nm) with a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic, and a 1.5 TSI Evo (150 PS, 250 Nm) with active cylinder technology, a 7-speed DSG and rear disc brakes. Volkswagen lists Chrome versions (the 1.0 TSI Comfortline, Highline, Highline Plus and Topline, and the 1.5 TSI GT Plus Chrome) and Sport versions (the 1.0 TSI GT Line and the 1.5 TSI GT Plus Sport).

Six airbags, ESC with ABS and EBD, ISOFIX mounts, rear parking sensors, a tyre pressure warning, Climatronic air conditioning and full LED headlamps are standard on every version. The Highline adds front parking sensors, a rear camera, alloy wheels, a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a wireless charger. The Highline Plus adds an electric sunroof, push-button start, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps and an 8-inch digital cockpit, and the Topline, GT Plus Chrome and GT Plus Sport add a panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats, a 10.25-inch digital cockpit, an amplifier and subwoofer, and MyVolkswagen Connect Plus. Cruise control and hill start assist are fitted to the automatics and the Topline manual. Global NCAP rated the earlier Taigun, which had two airbags as standard, five stars for adults and children in 2022; that result is not shown here, and Bharat NCAP has not rated the Taigun.
