The short version: CarSarthi doesn't ask you for any personal information, sets no cookies on its public pages and runs no advertising. It counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies.

What the server records

Like almost every website, the server keeps a log of each request: the IP address, the page asked for, the date and time, the browser's user-agent string and the page you came from. The logs are used to keep the site running and secure, and are deleted automatically after about two weeks.

Cookies and sign-in

The only cookies CarSarthi uses belong to the sign-in page for the site's admin area, which uses Google sign-in. They are set only if you use that page. If you do sign in, the name, email address and profile picture Google shares are stored so the site knows who is signed in.

Cloudflare

Requests to CarSarthi pass through Cloudflare, a network that delivers and protects websites. Cloudflare sees your IP address and the pages you ask for in order to deliver them. CarSarthi also uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views: a small script from Cloudflare records the page viewed, the site you came from, your country, your browser and device type, and how fast the page loaded. It uses no cookies and stores nothing in your browser.

Hosting and third parties

The site runs on a server rented from OVHcloud in France, which stores the data above on CarSarthi's behalf. Fonts are served by the site itself, so apart from Cloudflare, reading CarSarthi doesn't make your browser contact Google or any other third party.

If CarSarthi adds anything else that handles personal data, this page will be updated before it goes live.
