MG Hector

The Hector is MG's mid-size SUV, 4,699 mm long on a 2,750 mm wheelbase. It has one engine, a 1.5-litre turbocharged intercooled petrol (1,451 cc, 143 PS and 250 Nm), with a 6-speed manual or a CVT, and a 60-litre fuel tank. Most versions seat five; the Savvy Pro CVT is also sold as the seven-seat Hector Plus, which adds a 50:50 split third row, a third-row USB port and third-row air conditioning with its own fan control.

Six airbags, ESP, traction control, hill hold, ABS with EBD, disc brakes on all four wheels, ISOFIX mounts and rear parking sensors are standard. The entry Select Pro also has a reverse camera, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a 14-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a wireless charger, cruise control, LED projector headlamps and 17-inch alloy wheels. The Smart Pro adds 18-inch alloys, front parking sensors, tyre-pressure monitoring, push-button start with smart entry, eight speakers and tweeters with a subwoofer and MG's i-SMART connected-car features. The Sharp Pro adds ventilated front seats, a powered driver's seat, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and Infinity by Harman audio, and the Savvy Pro a 360-degree camera, a powered tailgate and MG's Level 2 driver assistance, with adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, lane keep assist and automatic emergency braking.
