Mahindra Thar Roxx

The Thar Roxx is the five-door, five-seat version of Mahindra's Thar, 4,428 mm long on a 2,850 mm wheelbase. Its 2.0-litre turbo-petrol makes 162 PS with the 6-speed manual and 177 PS with the 6-speed automatic, and drives the rear wheels only. The 2.2-litre diesel makes 152 PS, or 175 PS in the AX5L, AX7L and Star Edition automatics, and the MX5, AX5L and AX7L diesels are also sold with part-time four-wheel drive with low range, an electronic locking rear differential and 4XPLOR terrain modes. Bharat NCAP rated the Thar Roxx five stars for adult and child occupants in 2024; its list of covered variants does not include the Star Edition.

Six airbags, ESC, hill hold and hill descent control, ISOFIX mounts, LED projector headlamps and a 10.25-inch touchscreen are standard. The MX1 has steel wheels and no rear camera, Android Auto or Apple CarPlay; the MX3 adds those and cruise control, and the MX5 alloy wheels, LED daytime running lamps and fog lamps, a single-pane sunroof, front parking sensors and tyre-pressure monitoring. The AX3L, AX5L, Star Edition and AX7L have automatic climate control, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and connected-car features, and all but the Star Edition add Level 2 driver assistance with autonomous emergency braking and lane keep assist; adaptive cruise control comes only on the AX5L and AX7L automatics. The Star Edition and AX7L have a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, a Harman Kardon sound system and 19-inch alloy wheels.
