Mahindra BE 6

The BE 6, which Mahindra now sells as the BE 6 SPORTEQ, is a rear-wheel-drive electric SUV 4,371 mm long on a 2,775 mm wheelbase, with a 455-litre boot (VDA method) and a 45-litre front boot. It comes with a 59 kWh battery and a 170 kW (231 PS) motor, a 70 kWh battery and 180 kW (245 PS), or a 79 kWh battery and 210 kW (286 PS), all with 360 Nm; Mahindra quotes MIDC ranges of 573, 651 and 708 km. On a DC charger the battery goes from 20 to 80 per cent in 20 minutes, and the battery has a lifetime warranty for the first private owner. The prices here are for the car without a wall charger ('No Charger' on Mahindra's booking page); the brochure itself gives no prices.

There are ten versions, named after Mahindra's packs. All have ESP, disc brakes all round, a rear camera, tyre-pressure monitoring, cruise control, push-button start, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and connected-car features, and six airbags (seven on the Four, FE Four and Launch Edition). The One has 18-inch wheels with aero covers and two 12.3-inch screens; the Two adds 19-inch wheels, a third screen, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon system with Dolby Atmos, a 540-degree camera, front parking sensors, dual-zone climate control and a wireless charger. The Three adds alloy wheels, a fixed-glass panoramic roof, a powered driver's seat and ventilated front seats. The FE (Formula E Freedom Edition) has 20-inch alloys, adaptive dampers and two screens, without those seats. The Three+ adds Level 2 driver assistance, fog lamps, passive keyless entry and a powered tailgate; the Four adds Level 2+ assistance, a knee airbag, a head-up display, adaptive dampers and auto park assist, and the Launch Edition and FE Four have the Four's equipment (the FE Four with 20-inch wheels and two screens). Bharat NCAP rated the BE 6 five stars for adult and child occupants in 2025; of these versions its list covers the One, Two and Three with the 59 kWh battery.
