MG Windsor EV

The Windsor EV is an electric car from MG, 4,295 mm long on a 2,700 mm wheelbase. All three versions have a 38 kWh battery and a permanent magnet synchronous motor of 100 kW (136 PS) and 200 Nm, and MG quotes an MIDC range of 332 km. On a DC charger of up to 45 kW the battery goes from 20 to 80 per cent in about 45 minutes. A 3.3 kW portable cable comes with every version; the Excite also has a 3.3 kW home charging box (10 to 100 per cent in about 13.5 hours) and the Exclusive and Essence a 7.4 kW AC fast charger (about 7 hours). The battery has a lifetime warranty for the first private owner. MG also sells the car under a battery-as-a-service scheme, in which the battery is rented by the kilometre; the prices here are for the car with its battery.

Every version has six airbags, ESP, hill-hold and hill-descent control, disc brakes on all four wheels, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX mounts, automatic climate control, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Excite has 17-inch steel wheels, fabric seats, a 10.1-inch touchscreen and a 7-inch instrument display. The Exclusive adds 18-inch alloy wheels, man-made leather seats, a 15.6-inch touchscreen, an 8.8-inch instrument display, a 6-way powered driver's seat, a 360-degree camera, a wireless phone charger and MG's i-SMART connected-car features. The Essence adds a glass roof, ventilated front seats, a nine-speaker Infinity audio system, ambient lighting and a PM2.5 filter.
