Maruti Suzuki e Vitara

The e Vitara is Maruti Suzuki's first electric SUV, a five-seater sold through Nexa showrooms. It is 4,275 mm long on a 2,700 mm wheelbase and has two-wheel drive and a single-speed transmission. The Delta has a 49 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery and a 105.8 kW (144 PS) motor, and the Zeta and Alpha a 61 kWh battery and a 128 kW (174 PS) motor, both with 193 Nm; the certified ranges are 440 and 543 km. Maruti quotes 10 to 80 per cent in 45 minutes on a DC fast charger (at least 70 kW for the 61 kWh battery) and 10 to 100 per cent in about 6.5 or 9 hours on a 7.4 kW home charger. A 3 kW portable charging cable comes with every version, and the battery warranty runs for 8 years or 1,60,000 km. Maruti also offers a Battery as a Service (BaaS) plan through select financiers, in which the battery is paid for with a recurring fee instead of upfront; the prices here are for buying the car outright.

Every version has seven airbags (including a knee airbag for the driver), ESP, ABS with EBD, hill hold, an electronic parking brake with brake hold, disc brakes all round, ISOFIX mounts, tyre-pressure monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, automatic LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs, 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control with rear vents, keyless entry with push-button start, rain-sensing wipers, rear seats that slide and recline, a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay beside a 10.25-inch digital instrument display, and Suzuki Connect connected-car features. The Zeta adds a reversing camera and a wireless charger. The Alpha adds a 360-degree camera, Level 2 driver assistance with adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist and blind-spot monitoring, adaptive high beams, LED fog lamps, ventilated front seats, a 10-way powered driver's seat, a fixed glass sunroof, an eight-speaker Infinity by Harman sound system with a subwoofer, and a dual-tone paint option. Bharat NCAP rated the e Vitara five stars for adult and child occupant protection in 2025.
