Volkswagen Virtus

The Virtus is Volkswagen's five-seat sedan, 4,561 mm long on a 2,651 mm wheelbase, with a 521-litre boot that expands to 1,050 litres. It has two petrol engines: a 1.0 TSI (115 PS, 178 Nm) with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic, and a 1.5 TSI Evo (150 PS, 250 Nm) with active cylinder technology and a 7-speed DSG. Volkswagen lists it in two families: Chrome (the 1.0 TSI Comfortline, Highline, Highline Plus and Topline, and the 1.5 TSI GT Plus) and Sport (the 1.0 TSI GT Line and the 1.5 TSI GT Plus Sport). The Sport versions have black exterior and interior styling in place of chrome.

Six airbags, ESC with ABS and EBD, ISOFIX mounts, rear parking sensors and a tyre pressure warning are standard on every version. The Highline adds cruise control, a rear camera, fog lamps, alloy wheels, a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a wireless charger. The Highline Plus adds an electric sunroof, Climatronic air conditioning, push-button start, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps and an 8-inch digital cockpit, and the Topline, GT Plus and GT Plus Sport add electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats, an amplifier and subwoofer for the eight speakers, and MyVolkswagen Connect. Hill start assist is fitted to the automatics and the Topline manual. Global NCAP rated the earlier Virtus, which had two airbags as standard, five stars for adults and children in 2023; that result is not shown here, and Bharat NCAP has not rated the Virtus.
