Tata Sierra EV

The Sierra EV is the electric version of Tata's Sierra, a five-seat SUV 4,340 mm long on a 2,730 mm wheelbase, with 205 mm of ground clearance, a 622-litre boot and a small front trunk. It has a 63 kWh battery with a 238 PS rear motor or a 75 kWh battery with a 209 PS rear motor, both with 315 Nm; the top Empowered A is also sold with a second motor at the front (140 PS) for all-wheel drive and 504 Nm, for which Tata gives 0-100 km/h in 5.8 seconds. The certified (MIDC) ranges are 566 km with the 63 kWh battery, 665 km with the 75 kWh and 624 km with two motors. On a DC fast charger it charges from 20 to 80 per cent in about 25 or 26 minutes, and a 7.2 kW AC wall box takes 8.9 or 10.5 hours from 10 to 100 per cent.

Every version has six airbags, ESP, hill hold and hill descent control, disc brakes all round, an electronic parking brake, tyre-pressure monitoring, a rear camera, a 12.3-inch touchscreen and 10.25-inch digital cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, eight speakers, automatic climate control, automatic headlamps and wipers, keyless entry, cruise control and connected-car features. The Pure S adds a panoramic sunroof, fog lamps, front parking sensors and roof rails; the Adventure a 360-degree camera, a wireless charger and 12 JBL speakers with Dolby Atmos; the Empowered a second 12.3-inch screen for the front passenger, ventilated front seats, a powered driver's seat, dual-zone climate control and a powered tailgate; and the Empowered A 19-inch wheels, a head-up display, automatic parking and Level 2+ driver assistance with 22 functions, including adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking and blind-spot detection. Every version is sold with or without a 7.2 kW AC wall charger. Bharat NCAP has not rated the Sierra EV.
