Nissan Gravite

The Gravite is Nissan's seven-seat MUV, 3,987 mm long on a 2,636 mm wheelbase, with 182 mm of ground clearance, a removable 50:50 split third row and a second row that slides, reclines, folds and tumbles. Nissan quotes 84 litres of luggage space with all seven seats in use, 320 litres as a six-seater and 625 litres as a five-seater. Its 999 cc three-cylinder petrol engine, not turbocharged, makes 72 PS and 96 Nm and comes with a 5-speed manual or, on the N-Connecta and Tekna trims, a 5-speed AMT that Nissan calls EZ Shift; the ARAI-certified fuel economy is 19.3 km/l with the manual and 19.6 km/l with the AMT.

Six airbags, ESC, traction control, hill-start assist, ABS with EBD and brake assist, tyre-pressure monitoring, rear parking sensors and ISOFIX mounts are standard. The Visia has projector headlamps, 14-inch steel wheels and a 3.5-inch digital instrument cluster, and no touchscreen or speakers. The Acenta adds an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, two speakers, remote central locking and AC vents for all three rows; the N-Connecta four speakers, a rear camera, roof rails, LED tail lamps and electrically adjustable mirrors; and the Tekna LED headlamps with LED DRLs and fog lamps, 15-inch wheels, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a smart key with push-button start, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, a wireless charger, front parking sensors, two tweeters and, with the manual gearbox, cruise control. The Tekna Launch Edition comes with a set of Nissan accessories: JBL speakers, a front and rear dash camera, an air purifier, ambient lighting, neck and lumbar cushions and exterior trim and graphics. Nissan dealers also fit a government-approved twin-cylinder CNG kit at extra cost.
