MG Majestor

The Majestor is a ladder-frame SUV from MG, 5,046 mm long, 2,016 mm wide and 1,870 mm high on a 2,950 mm wheelbase. It is sold in one trim, Savvy, with one engine and gearbox: a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel of 158 kW (215 PS) and 478.5 Nm, and an 8-speed automatic with a column-mounted selector and paddle shifters. The 4x2 seats seven, with a 60:40 split bench in the second row, or six, with two second-row captain seats; the 4x4 is a seven-seater only. The 4x4 adds four-wheel drive with a low range, front, centre and rear differential locks, ten off-road modes and M-Crawl, a low-speed function that works the throttle and brakes while the driver steers.

All three versions have six airbags, ESP with traction control, hill hold and hill descent control, disc brakes all round, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, tyre-pressure monitoring, ISOFIX mounts, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera and MG's Level 2 driver assistance, including adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist and blind-spot detection. They also share 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps, a sunroof (MG's Galaxy View roof), leather upholstery (MG says it contains some synthetic material), ventilated and massaging front seats, a 12-way powered driver's seat with memory, three-zone automatic climate control with roof vents for the second and third rows, a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, two wireless chargers, a 12-speaker JBL system, MG's i-SMART connected-car features and a powered tailgate that also opens with a kick.
