Hyundai Exter

The Exter is Hyundai's five-seat compact SUV, 3,830 mm long on a 2,450 mm wheelbase. Its 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine makes 83 PS and 113.8 Nm and comes with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT; the factory-fitted petrol-CNG version (69 PS, 95.2 Nm) is sold with the manual only. The CNG versions carry two gas cylinders, have their spare wheel under the car and offer 225 litres of boot space against 391 litres in the petrol versions.

Six airbags, ESC, hill-start assist, ISOFIX mounts, rear parking sensors and a digital instrument cluster are standard. The HX 3 adds an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, speakers and a rear camera; the HX 4 tyre-pressure monitoring, LED daytime running lamps, rear AC vents and 15-inch wheels; and the HX 4+ an electric sunroof. From the HX 6 there are projector headlamps, roof rails, a dashcam, push-button start and automatic climate control, with cruise control on the petrol versions; the HX 8 adds alloy wheels, automatic headlamps and a wireless charger, and the HX 10 Bluelink connected-car features. The HX 6 Knight and HX 10 Knight have black and dark grey exterior details, a black interior with brass accents and red front brake calipers.
